Conversation with NBC & Graduations Galore

This past month, you made a lot of great things possible in the lives of children. The Gazette's purpose is to keep you in the know on all things Many Hopes - things you make possible! Thank you!

Gazette-Images_June_well (1)We believe that children who have survived injustice can be the best people to defeat the causes of what they suffered. So we help them do that.

Incase you Missed it

Our Malawi partner lead, Dr. Anne Alaniz, recently sat down with NBC News’ Kate Snow to share the inspiring story behind the home, school, and clinic you make possible. Watch the conversation below.

Counseling and Comfort in Guatemala

Elysia* is 8 years old and came to live at the home our partner, EDELAC, in Guatemala, runs after losing both of her parents in a farming accident. She's settled into the home, is enrolled in grief counseling, and looks forward to weekly movie nights. Elysia loves painting, and one day, she dreams of becoming a teacher.

Because of you, she has the safety and love she needs to imagine a bright future.

100% of 8th Graders Graduate in Malawi

Our local partner, Pothawira, hosted 8th grade graduation. And drum roll.... every single student passed! This is a big deal. In Malawi, only 56% of children graduate 8th grade. Thanks to your support, many of these students are now the most educated members of their families. What an incredible milestone!

College-bound in Kenya

This year, 32 of the 73 high school seniors you support were accepted to four-year universities, and the other 41 were accepted into two-year college programs. To celebrate this incredible achievement, our local partner in Kenya, Friends for Justice, hosted an awards ceremony filled with inspiring speeches, joyful dancing, and of course… cake!

Thanks to your support, these students are stepping boldly into their next chapter.

Lemonade Stand-1

Three sisters on a mission: Meet Honor, Isabella, and Henrietta from Charlottesville, Virginia. This summer, these three sisters set up a lemonade stand with one goal: to support children around the world.

Instead of setting prices, they made their stand donation-based. Thirsty neighbors could take what they wanted and give what they could. In just two hours, these industrious entrepreneurs raised an amazing $331! Wow!

Their efforts and generosity will cover the cost of tuition and school supplies for a child. Honor, Isabella, and Henrietta, a huge round of applause for making a difference!
